Celebrating Women's Success Garden Party.

The third in this seasonal series was held last Sunday at the beautify Lambley Gardens in Ascot. The weather was kind to us, and the gar- dens were an absolute treat with many of the flowers in full bloom. The afternoon was a resounding success with a nice mix of club members and guests. The highlight of the day was the moving talk delivered by Criss Canning. Criss had everyone fully engaged when she told the story of her celebrated career as a renowned artist. She emphasized her willingness to take risks, the importance of a mentor and of course the role of hard work. Not only did Criss and her wonderful husband Da- vid donate the use of their gardens for the day, Criss also do- nated $40 to the club for each of her beautify books that guests purchased. A real surprise was the appearance of Bar- ry Currie who entertained the group with a terrific rendition of favourite tunes. Congratulations to John Valpied and his mem- bership team for organizing such a successful event.
